- I left the suburbs behind and headed out to an 1880's farmhouse with high hopes for a more fulfilling life. I spend my days as a criminal defense attorney and my nights and weekends as an amateur chef. We attempt to live within a budget so none of the recipes here feature a laundry list of exotic ingredients nor do they typically require any specialized equipment not found in the average American kitchen. The food here is simple but delicious and made by hand from scratch.
